Neighbors the death of a 3-year-old San Mateo girl who drowned in a lagoon near her home on Saturday.


Tuesday, June 19

An environmentalist group that aims to raise awareness about oceanic sustainability Wednesday International Surfing Day.  

In an effort to call attention to their cause, Surfrider Foundation CEO Jim Moriarty encouraged people to take the day off and enjoy the natural resources his group says it's dedicated to protecting.


Wednesday, June 20

A car stereo and a scooter were stolen in separate car early Monday morning, authorities said.


Thursday, June 21

A bird found in Woodside that tested positive for the earlier this month is San Mateo County's first reported case of this year, according to the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District.


Friday, June 22

Visitors to Taylor Middle School will soon see a greener and more colorful campus, and they'll have an army of community volunteers to thank.

Staffers from the Millbrae school, along with students and parents will at the front of the school on Saturday.
