Chihuahuas For a Song

Peninsula Humane Society will host its annual Adopt-a-thon this Saturday; every lovable Chihuahua and Chi-mix can be adopted at no cost.


Meet the love of your life this Saturday at the fourth annual Adopt-a-thon.

The event will be held 11 a.m.-9 p.m. (extending regular closing time by three hours) at the new Center for Compassion, 1450 Rollins Rd. in Burlingame.

  • During the Adopt-a-thon, there will be no adoption fee for ; in fact, PHS will give adoptors $10 in "fun bucks" to be used at the shelter's Furchandise retail store.
  • In addition to Chihuahuas, approximately 45 dogs, 70 cats/kittens and 25 small animals and exotic pets will be available for adoption
  • For all other dogs, cats and small animals, visitors will be allowed to choose their own adoption fee.
  • Throughout Saturday’s adopt-a-thon, we’ll be accepting donated items (clean clothes, housewares and books) for our thrift store.

Saturday's event marks PHS's fourth annual Adopt-a-thon; in past years, single day adoption totals ranged from 60-70 animals placed into new loving homes.
