San Mateo County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested for Child Molestation

Police in Gilroy arrested a San Mateo County sheriff’s deputy Thursday 9/26/13 at his home on charges he sexually abused his daughter over the course of several years, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Galen Underwood was arraigned yesterday and faces seven felony counts and one misdemeanor count related to an alleged ongoing sexual relationship with his daughter  who was 11 when the molestation first started, according to prosecutors.

Charges range from rape by forcible object, oral copulation by force or fear and digital penetration by force or fear of a person under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and lewd acts upon a child. DDA Stuart Scott said there still my be dozens of uncharged acts

Underwood has worked for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office since January 2005 and had been out on disability the past few months, according to the Sheriff’s Office."

The victim is now 17 years old reported this to a school counselor on Wednesday and he was arrested the next day.

He faces 58 years in prison on the seven current charges.
