Early Morning Accident on Hwy 101 Ejects Man

Witnesses to the crash on the Millbrae Ave offramp are needed.

An early morning single-vehicle accident on the Millbrae Avenue offramp from southbound Hwy 101 has left a man in the hospital with major injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Keefe Jerod Backer, of San Francisco, was traveling at an unsafe speed in a white 2002 Ford E-150 van when he attempted to get off the highway. Because of his excessive speed, he was unable to make it through the right-hand curve of the off-ramp, causing his van to collide into a 3-foot high concrete wall.
