San Francisco native Sheryl Chin Co was diagnosed with leukemia last September. According to her doctors, she needs to have bone marrow transplant next month but a match hasn't been found...yet. 

The Asian American Donor Program held bone marrow and stem cell donor drives in Foster City and Fremont last weekend registering people who could be a potential match for those suffering from leukemia, lymphoma and other diseases. 

According to Alameda based AADP, Asian and Pacific Islander donors are in dire need because of the small number of Asian donors in the National Marrow Donor Program registry. 

Twenty-one people registered at the drive at Fearless Fitness in Foster City on Dec. 18, and approximately 10 registered at the Fil-Am United Church for Christ in Fremont on Dec. 19.
